| Once preferences are identified, intensive training is provided to assist individuals in acquiring the skills essential for employment success and better life. Through job sampling in the community and in our training centres, each individual has the opportunity to experience a variety of vocational opportunities. One example of how student goals are integrated is through the identification and reinforcement of vocational interests. As the student samples different jobs, she/he is prompted to communicate directly with staff about preferences and dislikes. Expression of vocational preference is solidified systematically through job accommodation, job carving, and sometimes, job modification. With your support, we strive to provide abandoned and neglected children with access to critically needed services. In a secure environment, it is our belief that these children will develop a new sense of responsibility and commitment to themselves, and their community. Our collective care would significantly reduce poverty and improve the general health and well being of people in Nigeria and around the world: thus helping to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the United Nations. |
